This quadrat is located on the edge of the prairie, very close to a busy street. Considerable disturbed and bare ground is present in the area, along with a unique diversity of plants. One species found in abundance is yellow evening primrose, which has been identified in few other locations on the preserve. This area is also one of the few remaining places at Living Prairie Museum where crocuses still blossom in numbers.
