Goldenrod

Once in flower, the Goldenrod has a unique umbrella-shape, although this particular hike shows it in seed. There are numerous seeds on the head of the plant, each accompanied by fine ‘hairs’ assisting their dispersal by either wind, or when brushed upon by animals or humans.
