This panorama is located due south of the old homestead and was taken during June 2004. There is considerable litter in this area due to successive years of horse drawn mowing without removal of cut material. "Litter" is the term used to describe a groundcover or biomass; i.e. seasonal accumulation of dead plant material.

Dominant flora seen in this panorama is Canada goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), Big bluestem (Andropogon gerardii), Meadow blazingstar (Liatris ligulistylis), Silverleaf psoralea (Psoralea arguta), Low prairie rose (Rosa arkansas) and Western snowberry (Symphoricarpos occidentalis).
