This panorama is located at the edge of the prairie close to the Interpretive Centre and was taken during June 2004. Because "control burns" are problematic so close to the building, considerable litter has built up in the area. "Prairie edges" often include invasive species such as Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis), Smooth brome (Bromus inermis) and Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense). Management tools for an area like this include hand picking of invasive species and controlled spot burns.

Dominant flora seen in this panorama are Silverleaf psoralea (Psoralea arguta), Canada goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), Big bluestem (Andropogon gerardii), Side oats grama (Bouteloua curtipendula), and Low prairie rose (Rosa arkansas).
