Cumulus Clouds In Spring

The Manitoban prairie impresses upon people with its grandness and vastness of clouds and sky, making it impossible to miss the changes in cloud patterns.

Towering cumulous clouds are a part of Manitoban weather in the spring, where the heat bubbling up near the warm ground is met by cold air flowing over the south of the province. In the summer, these towering cumulous clouds become thunderstorms.

The ‘history’ of clouds on a stormy day can be 10-15 minutes, from the time it forms, bubbles-up, rains and then dissipates, which causes a continual recharging of energy within the clouds.
